McNairn Packaging

1882 - Birth of McNairn. James Harvey McNairn establishes J.H. McNairn Limited. This date establishes McNairn as the first company in North America to utilize roll to roll waxing technology.

In the 1950's and 1960's, McNairn focuses on "Building Papers" such as asphalt coated and laminated construction papers. Another major marketing segment is food related waxed liners for cereal, jello and biscuit boxes.

In 1975, McNairn establishes a new purpose built, modern facility in Whitby, Ontario. In 1979, McNairn enters the US market! In the 1980's, McNairn moves into the food service packaging market. In 1991, McNairn establishes a plant in Westfield, Massachusetts, strengthening its international presence.

2000 and beyond - "Share of Stomach", McNairn and the packaging industry continually evolves and continues to meet new challenges.
