De Wafelbakkers

The success of De Wafelbakkers dates back to its founding in a bakery in the heart of Holland. In the 1980's, our company began importing waffles to the United States direct from our Holland bakery. The demand for these waffles propelled us to begin manufacturing in the United States.

In 1984, Meyer's Bakery and the Janssen Brothers joined together in a venture to create these waffles in the US using the European waffle recipe that came straight from Holland - De Wafelbakkers was born. Two custom built ovens were installed in the Meyer's Bakery location in Hope, Arkansas to ensure the quality of the product. Production began soon after.

The venture was a success and continued to grow with expanded distribution, additional brand names, and co-manufacturing arrangements. The success of the waffles led to the addition of pancakes to the product line around the same time as the completion of a new modern bakery in North Little Rock, Arkansas in 1994.

Today, De Wafelbakkers manufactures frozen pancakes and waffles as well as shelf-stable waffles which are distributed throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Our products include A+ Cinnamon, Apple Cinnamon, Banana, Blueberry, and Maple.
